The YYZ Take
The Spa at the St. Regis Toronto occupies 15,000 square feet across two floors at the top of the hotel on Bay Street, and the first thing that hits you is that you are not in the city anymore. Or rather, you are very much in the city – you can see it through the floor-to-ceiling windows – but you are completely detached from it. That separation is the whole point. The spa is the kind of place you come to when you need a half-day that feels like a full vacation, and you need it to require zero travel.
The infinity saltwater pool on the 32nd floor is the centrepiece. It overlooks downtown Toronto and the lake beyond, and the fact that it is saltwater matters – it is gentler on the skin and carries a different quality of buoyancy than a standard pool. Adjacent to it are the hot tub, the dry cedar sauna, and steam rooms in both the men's and women's change rooms. As a package, the wet amenities alone justify a visit even without a treatment booked. Spa guests who spend $100 or more on services receive complimentary access to all of it.
The treatment menu is built around Sothys Paris, a French professional skincare brand that has been in the luxury spa world since 1946. Massages start at $235 for 60 minutes and run to the St. Regis Signature Massage at $370 for 90 minutes. Facials, body scrubs, wraps, lymphatic drainage, and nail services round out the menu. Every guest is assigned a personal spa butler for the duration of their visit – someone who will bring champagne or tea, press your clothes while you're in the pool, and handle anything else without needing to be asked twice. It is the detail that makes the St. Regis feel categorically different from every other spa in the city.
The Iridium Lounge – the relaxation space between the treatment corridors and the pool floor – is where you will lose track of time. Deep tufted seating, textured walls, dim lighting, and the quiet hum of a space where no one is rushing anywhere. It is the room you sit in after a treatment and realize you have been there for 45 minutes without noticing. That is not accidental. It is the whole idea.
For those who need a practical argument: the spa is on Bay Street in the financial district, accessible by TTC from anywhere in the city in under 20 minutes, and the hotel has valet parking if you drive. There is no reason this kind of afternoon requires a flight.
