The YYZ Take
Chi Junky has been doing its own thing since 2014, long before music-forward yoga became a trend worth naming. Founded by Rachelle Wintzen in Leslieville, the studio has grown from a small neighbourhood space into a 4,000-square-foot sanctuary on McGee Street — still in the same east-end community, still running on the same philosophy: good movement, good people, great music.
The full-service angle is real. You show up empty-handed — lululemon mats and premium props are pre-set at your spot, alkaline water is on tap, towels are there. For first-timers especially, removing that logistical friction matters. There's no figuring out the mat rental system or hunting for blocks. You just arrive and get into it.
Class variety is strong: Chi Flow and Chi Power for vinyasa practitioners, Chi Cardio for people who want their heart rate up, Chi Restore and Chi Yin for recovery. The Chi Revival class — often described as a cathartic, Sunday-service-style experience mixing meditation and movement — has its own devoted following. The downstairs studio leans candlelit and moody; the upstairs runs bright and airy. Worth knowing which you're booking before you show up.
The intro pass is three classes for $75, valid for one month. Compared to a $36 drop-in, you're saving about a class's worth of value. Enough to try two or three formats and actually get a read on whether this is your place.
